The new iOS 7 has a million features and a gorgeous new design (finally!). But with so many default improvements, Apple has destroyed many players in the App Store and Cydia market.
- SB Settings and NC Settings
Who needs these, when we have the new Control Center? In fact, the Control Center has a built-in music player, direct controls to AirDrop, AirPlay, Calculator, Camera, Clock and a Flash Light.
- Google Chrome and Opera Mini
- Winterboard and Dreamboard
We used to use themes on our iPhones when we were completely fed up of the boring grid design in the previous version of iOS. But now, with the amazing software design, I’d be surprised to see anyone use another theme. But after some time, I think, some people might like to try a new design, provided Apple doesn’t update it in 5 frickin’ years!
Auxo has been one of my favorites since around 6 months. It is a beautiful App Switcher for iOS 5 and 6. But now, iOS 7 has something much better up it’s sleeve.
The new Multitasking with previews uses the full size of the iPhone 5 display to let users see what’s going on in apps. Users can also swipe up to kill an app, instead of long pressing on it.
- Pandora vs iRadio
Apple announced it radio service, iTunes Radio, which will definitely kill Pandora, as it would have instant popularity, and a larger collection of artists.
- Camera Plus and related apps
Well, the Camera app might not necessarily kill these applications, but the sales of the latter would definitely fall. The new Camera app has a gorgeous design and amazing filters with editing options to make your photos top notch.
- Prey Anti-Theft
The WWDC also came with a solution for theft, one that was already offered by the open-source application ‘Prey’. But now as a default feature, Prey would be prey!
- IntelliscreenX 6
This application came to the market with one motto: ‘The way iOS’s lockscreen should be.” Well, now it is.
The new Calendar app in iOS 7 rocks! It lets you lets you swipe between days, turn to landscape to see a week in advance and zoom out to see your month or year. Fantastical was needed by most in the past, but no more.
- Flashlight apps
Flashlight is now built into the Control Center. Who needs the slow Flashlight apps now?
Apple simply killed them all. What do you guys think ?
