As you heard from the earlier post the iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak is finally here. So here is the step by step guide to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and the iPod touch with Absinthe 2.0.
Note: If your device is currently on iOS 5.1.1 with a tethered jailbreak, simply install Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether instead [Open Cydia and make a search].
Step 1: Download Absinthe 2.0 first.
Step 2: Run Absinthe 2.0.
Step 3: Then Connect your device to your computer and ensure that Absinthe detects the exact device that you connect. Note : Your device must be turned on and at the Home screen. You do not have to use DFU mode at all.
Step 4: Click Jailbreak, and let Absinthe 2.0 do the rest. You will see your iPhone act as if it’s performing a restore, this is normal so just be patient.
Step 5: Once complete, you will get an alert on Absinthe telling you that the jailbreak is complete, and you should see the Cydia app icon on your Home screen. It is now safe to unplug your device.
Step 6: Open Cydia, and it will prepare for first use as usual. So BOOM your device on iOS 5.1.1 is now jailbroken, not just that it’s an untethered jailbreak!

I had my phone jailbroken with 4.2.1 greenpoison. I restored it a while back to the stock iphone state. If i jailbreak 5.1.1 with Absinthe 2.0 would I encounter any setbacks or issues?
Can i do on 5.0.1 or do i have to update it first?
