How To Enable Multitouch Gestures On iPhone 4 Running iOS 4.3 GM

by on March 4, 2011

iOS 4.3 has brought some great new features including the multitouch gestures for iPad. This feature, however, has been exclusive to the iPad and that too only in the developer betas seeded by Apple, which eventually won’t be present in the public release of iOS 4.3, which is scheduled for launch on March 11 with the iPad 2. However, it seems there’s quite an easy way to enable these multitouch gestures on an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3 GM firmware.

Just follow the instructions below to try out these gestures on your iPhone 4 in iOS 4.3:

Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 4 running iOS 4.3 GM ( jailbreak iOS 4.3 tutorial / just use GM build instead)

Step 2: SSH into your iPhone and browse to: System>Library>CoreServices>SpringBoard.app>N90.plist

Step 3: Open N90.plist with a plist editor, or a text editor like TextWrengler

Step 4: Add the a boolean statement and set the value to true

Step 5: Save everything you’ve edited, restart the Springboard.

Step 6: That’s it, you’re all done! You should now see the Multitouch Gestures option in the Settings.app file on your iPhone 4. Just tap to turn it on.
