Apple Granted iOS Slide To Unlock Patent

by on October 26, 2011

Slide to unlock was one of the main features Steve liked very much to demonstrate when he released the original iPhone back in 2007. It was a whole new feature the tech world saw at that time and it even made Apple to file a patent application for this cool unlocking mechanism.

How Apple got the Slide To Unlock patent ?

Apple was granted  several patents from USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) today and according to PatentlyApple Apple was granted a patent regarding iOS’ Slide to Unlock feature which was of-course introduced first by the Cupertino Company back in 2007.

What is more interesting is the fact that the application was submitted in December, 2005, which is more than a year before the handset was revealed. So after all the bottom-line is that no other company can use it or may be use it and get sued by Apple.
